How To Watch Spectrum Channels From Computer

You must be connected to an authorized TWC modem and/or router which is tied to your account.I attempted to use my Roku to watch TV while on travel, and I was advised by an error message stating something to the effect that, 'You must be connected to a modem authorized to your Time Warner Account.'

Think about it for a second. If you could watch 'TV Anywhere', everyone would be creating ID's for all their friends and 'sharing' the cable service. This would NEVER fly with the networks, who want to control dissemenation of their content.You will have better luck using the individual channel apps on your Roku to watch content (such as FX Now, FOX Now, etc.). I'm surprised Spectrum doesn't have a system in place where you can register a set number of devices so you can watch channels away from home.

You will never be allowed to use a device to watch your video subscription at an address that is not yours using your TWC / Spectrum TV app. Some channels are available via a browser, but they are far and few - think CSPAN. Provided TWC / Spectrum has a deal in place, you can make use of the individual channel apps to watch some programming away from home - like FX and FOX and NBSCN.2. Local commercial channels? Perhaps register a phone or tablet as a device, not a cable box, to watch the entire lineup of channels away from home. Who would just give someone their personal phone on a long term basis to steal cable? You need your phone for other things, afterall. And if you change your phone, then you have to re-register it and you can't have more than 1 phone registered. I don't think that's unreasonable.

Thsi error was different. Iot was wanting me to log in to Charter account which I don't have.It doesn't matter what the error message is. Eventaully every gateway for the service whill be a 'spectrum' one.The Roku TWC app (now the Spectrum app) has never worked when not connected to your home LAN.
The only TV I can watch 'anywhere' with my TWC credentials is CSPAN and FX via a computer web browser. When I've tried to use my Roku away from home, I was prompted for my credentials, which I provided (this was before the merger), and the error message received was that I was not connected to my home network.

I was trying to connect on someone else's TWC internet connection, so that explains why I even got to a point where I could enter my username and password.The TWC / Spectrum Roku app is not a way for you to be able to watch your TV lineup while on travel, at your second home, or at your friend's home across town.
