Contents.Basement DoorIn the Pre-Alpha, the basement door was a white wooden door blocked with a wooden board, and sealed with a padlock and number keypad. In Alpha 1, there was no keypad, and there were two wooden boards instead of just one.
Additionally, the player had to remove the individual nails instead of just clicking the boards. This method would become the default for future versions. In Alpha 2, the basement door looked like a large metal door that could be opened with a valve, and was blocked with only one wooden board, but had a key-card reader in place of a number pad.In its current appearance, the basement door is a brown wooden door, which is keycard-controlled, nailed with two boards, and as of the first Beta, propped shut with a chair. The chair can simply be removed, but the keycard is frozen in a block of ice inside the Neighbor's freezer, and the crowbar is hidden somewhere on the third floor and heated with electricity.Inside the BasementIn the full game, the basement appears to be an ordinary room at the bottom of the stairs, containing boxes, a boiler and a washing machine. However, upon trying to open the washing machine, the entire front hinges open, revealing itself to be a secret door.
It contains a secret passageway leading to the real basement; a maze of rooms. The player must get to the end of the basement, and make their way back to the beginning while removing the chairs blocking all the doors. This will create a path for them to follow, and they must then turn off the power. Upon doing so, numerous gates appear and block the player's path, requiring them to use the doors. The Neighbor will also enter the basement. The player must make their way to the end, while avoiding the Neighbor. However, for whatever reason, he cannot catch them, should they leave the washing machine.
The player must turn on a generator and then make their way back to the exit door, flipping the switch to remove the gate blocking the door. Upon entering, the Neighbor enters behind them and begins chasing them. The player must make their way to the end of this passageway without being caught. If the Neighbor catches them here, the player is simply put back at the beginning of the passageway and must repeat the chase. At the end of the passageway is a door locked with a few padlocks.
The player fails to open the door and is then captured by the Neighbor. In Act 2, the player wakes up in a small locked room within the basement. Upon attempting to open the door and then wandering away from it, construction noises are heard, and then the sound of a lock being opened. The player can then exit the room to find the basement's layout is slightly different, and only a small section leading to the back exit is accessible. There are wire fences with a boiler, bed, and other bits of furniture behind them. The main path back to the front of the basement is blocked with a pile of furniture, so the player must remove a nearby vent cover, crawl through the duct and climb the ladder to exit.In Act 3, the layout of the basement is much of the same, but the accessible areas are different.
The basement is also tilted and worn down. All three abilities are required from here on. A Shadow Man is also present, and again requires invisibility to avoid being caught as it walks down a long hall. After it is gone, the player can pass.
They should then go down the hall the Shadow Man came from and double-jump onto some pipes to get over a gate blocking the door marked with an Exit sign. At this point, the Neighbor catches the player. Use the break-free ability by repeatedly jumping (Spacebar by default) to escape. Afterward, the protagonist knocks over the Neighbor and locks the door behind them. The Neighbor can be heard crying worriedly from outside. The player can then go to the door that was previously locked in Act 1.
The Giant Neighbor boss battle begins after going through it.Alpha and Beta ReleasesThe player never got to see inside the Pre-Alpha and Alpha 1 basement(s), as it was simply a cupboard under the stairs in the former, and a cut-scene played in the latter where shut the door on the protagonist and buried them alive. In Alpha 2, the basement was developed and had several rooms. However, the game ended as the player approached the open wooden door, and this version of the basement would not be playable in future versions.

Additionally, the basement itself was not in Alpha 3, and the rooms are thus unused. From Alpha 4 to Beta 3, the basement was a strange place, with a huge abyss, platforms, and large fans which required the player to double-jump to reach them and be holding an umbrella in order to catch the wind. The player went through an assortment of rooms. Firstly, they would drop into a small room with lots of cameras dangling on wires from the ceiling, and switch on a generator in order to open the gate. The Neighbor himself appeared in order to chase the player, though he could only do so up to a certain point. The player must use their break-free and superthrow abilities to knock down the Neighbor and allow enough time for the gate to open.
They must then run to the next section, double-jumping twice in order to get over a barricade of furniture. Be warned that not being fast enough will allow the Neighbor to climb over the barricade and continue giving chase, though going invisible allows for losing him once past the barricade. The next obstacle requires double-jumping up a few platforms to turn on a generator, and then use the super-throw to hit the giant switch with one of the nearby objects, and then return through the gate to double jump into the fan.
At the final section, a lurked, making strange wailing noises. If it spotted the player, it would warp in front of them while growling, sending them back to the start of the basement. The player was required to utilize invisibility and wait for it to pass, in order to safely reach the final boss.Trivia.
In the, the code for the Pre-Alpha basement was always '4785'. Behind the basement door in Alpha 1 was a road picture, as seen from the 'nightmare' sequence of the Neighbor entering it and then leaving after a crash occurs inside.
Hello Neighbor Secret Neighbor Game
Glitching, hacking, or disabling the invisible walls showed this easier. In Alpha 2, if the player opened the basement but didn't enter it, the Neighbor would occasionally open the door and check inside while inspecting his house. However, he could not use the portal inside to teleport to the basement. Curiously, there was a basement map in Alpha 3's game files consisting of a flat grassy area and a large. The player can enter the basement in Alpha 4 and future versions as soon as they acquire the crowbar and keycard. However, the basement cannot be traversed until the player unlocks the double-jump ability, as the default jump is not long enough to reach the air stream of the fan, even if the player pulls off a tricky jump to grab the umbrella mid-air. In the final version, the double-jump is needed to clear the fence.
may occasionally place a bucket trap on the door, even though there is very little reason for him to do so.References.
Hello, Neighbor! Is a Stealth Horror Game released on 8 Dec 2017 by Dynamic Pixels developer. To quote the immortal classic: there's something strange in the neighborhood here. Specifically at your neighbor's house. And this house at a closer inspection turns out to be one big maze of fear, filled with possessed mannequins, treacherous traps and vague clues that possibly may lead to an explanation: what the fudge is going on here?Your investigation will show, as soon as you download Hello Neighbor for Windows, Linux, your mobile platform or your favorite console. Yep, it runs almost on anything, except there’s no Hello Neighbor for Wii U and also Xbox 360.People spouting “Howdy neighbor!”The game, consisting of three acts in total, puts you in the shoes of an adolescent suburbanite, who at the very beginning hears a hair-raising scream from the neighbor's house.
Naturally, you can't help but go and inspect the nature of such an unforeseen and unsettling incident. And that's where the gameplay shows its ambitious intentions to catch you off guard. Here's what we've got:.No tutorials/checkpoints - seriously, the game refuses to supervise you and hold your hand, dishing out hints all the time.
Your progress solely depends on your observation skills, reaction, creativity, sneakiness and most of all blind luck.Intricate setting - the evil neighbor's house is sort of multiverse, in which almost every room is a dimension on its own. And the one, infested with nefarious living mannequins is stellarly scary. The plot ambivalence - is the Neighbor with the massive chin and 19th-century mustache truly a villain? Or maybe he's actually trying to protect you? Or maybe hold you hostage to compensate for his tragically lost family?.Learning AI - the reclusive antagonist will remember your latest infiltration routes and lay traps.Although this indie-game seemed to be quite a delicious heebie-jeebies cocktail at the beginning, soon enough disappointment will make it taste bitter. At some point, it'll be next to impossible to hide/run away from the Neighbor. Try as hard as you want to be noiseless, there's a 90% chance that he'll hear you nonetheless. And even throwing domestic objects at him, which causes brief slowing down, won't help. What's even worse, the Neighbor has no predictable patrolling pattern and it may take you a lot of time to wait for a moment to sneak into the area you want or pickpocket him.And finally the cherry on top of that illogical pandemonium - solving all of the puzzles requires angelic patience.
It's never about deduction, a sudden Eureka or a lucky guess. Error and trial and mule's stubbornness - that's pretty much it. If Tim Burton was a game-designerHello, Neighbor has a catchy bizarre retro vibe in its visual aesthetics. Think of it as Toy Story mixed with a Hitchcock's movie, mimicking Metal Gear Solid and point-n-click puzzle games from the 90's.The levels and characters do look like misshaped decorations and figurines sculpted out of play dough but they are remarkably well animated and show no muddiness at all. And if you compare Hello Neighbor PS4 with the PC or with Hello Neighbor Mac version - you won't see a tremendous difference regarding fps.The sound design is one of the central elements in the game. There is no background music to divert your attention, while you're on the mission. And every little sound - footsteps, clocks ticking, TV-show in unknown language, Neighbor's laughter - they help you navigate through the house and let you know whenever the Neighbor is getting closer to you.And if you happen to get busted.
An eerie sound effect of the mixed piano, organ and increased heartbeat will haunt you for a while afterwards.Sadly controls in Hello Neighbor Xbox One are pretty clumsy at times. Although you use classic buttons, like L for movement or A for jumping, they require specific manipulation for every specific situation. Hello Neighbor PC is plagued by the same problem. Tips & tricksLuckily, the only retaliation you face, whenever you get caught is being thrown out of the Neighbor's property. And your inventory items won't even be confiscated. The game's AI seems to be smart but it's only an illusion - it always investigates the routes you use the most, therefore avoiding traps and creating diversion can be easy. Make the Neighbor chase you around the house a couple of times in a row.
Then sneak into the house and run the water in the bathroom to make your adversary run in circles around the building, fruitlessly searching for you.To procure the Key in the very beginning:. Lure the Neighbor out of the house. Keep the safe distance between you and him. When he returns home, sneak up from behind and pickpocket him.To deactivate the bear traps just throw an item at them. At some point you'll need to find a Wrench to progress further - it can be obtained:. In the kitchen fridge.
The Neighbor's tool-shed.To freeze the pool of water:. Go to the attic and snatch the Globe. Place it in the freezer. Put it on a pedestal in the room, which misses a wall.Or simply go to the boiler facility and switch the heat off to achieve the same result. To get the shovel:. Go to the place in the house, which is above the rear ladder. Activate valve on the water tap.
Water will drain. Also, there's a glitch that sometimes allows you to get rid of the Neighbor for good. For that purpose force him into chasing you all the way to your house, run inside the house and if he jumps through the window to catch you - he'll get stuck there hopelessly.P.S. In case you'd like to have the game with you wherever you go, you can:.
